Lisa's brother, Bryan, and his wife, Lindsey, had a party near Rockville, Indiana in celebration of their recent marriage. Rockville is a rural area and getting to Lindsey's dad's home (who hosted the party) was not easy. It was the farthest the Hsu family had traveled together, and the first time Zoë had crossed state lines. Zoë did not particularly enjoy the 4 hour drive from Chicago. We stayed at the Raccoon Lakeside Lodge with Lisa's parents and her brother, David. This was the first time Zoë had ever been in a forest and seen livestock on a farm. It had even been a long time for Lisa and me (I caught myself gawking at cows).

Dinner with friends
We had dinner with our friends Ali and Geoff this weekend. Since they have such a wonderful kitchen we agreed to cook dinner at their place while they helped watch Zoë (as well as supply the wine). Dinner was essentially planned and made by Lisa (I diced some cucumbers and mangoes). Zoë enjoyed playing and reading with Geoff but especially loved playing hide/seek with Ali. Lisa took some pictures of the food she made which was really quite good! The menu was as follows:
appetizer - popcorn with fresh thyme, homemade focaccia bread, mango-almond gazpacho with shrimp salad
dinner - pork tenderloin with port and fig sauce
dessert - chocolate flan (kind of)

Happy Easter
We went to Lisa's parents house this weekend for Easter. Zoë enjoyed hanging out with her cousins, painting Easter eggs and participating in her first Easter egg hunt.

Spinning, dancing and imitating animal sounds
We are amazed at how much she picks up from us and at daycare. Here are recent videos of how much fun she can be. Notice that she gives me a questionable look when I asked her to sit. This girl is way too smart for her own good!
